“A Small Town and a Nation: Why Scotland Needs Jesus More Than Ever”
As we draw closer to our departure for Scotland, God continues to open our eyes in ways we never expected. What started as a call has grown into a burden—one that sits in our hearts daily, shaping our prayers, our preparation, and the very purpose behind God’s Knot Dead Ministries. One of the most sobering realities we’ve learned along this journey is this: There are more Christians in one average small town in the United States than in the entire nation of Scotland. Let that

Director's Blog - 07 November 2025
It's November! Where has this year gone?!? Seriously, I just blinked, and suddenly I’m knee-deep in pumpkin spice everything. When I look at the date on this blog, it feels like I just got off a rollercoaster ride that went way too fast. I mean, did someone hit the fast-forward button on my life? Can I get a refund on the last 11 months? Or at least a nap? On the other hand, if I sit back and reflect on all of the events and travels Russ & I had this year, it feels like we’ve

Strategizing and preparing for our move...we are investing in others through Podcasts
As Lisa and I embark on the next chapter of our journey, we realize how vital it is to invest in others. Our exploration of podcasting is not just a personal endeavor; it serves as a channel for sharing experiences and the inspiring stories of those we encounter. In this blog post, I want to highlight how we utilize podcasting as a tool for connection and support, especially in our missions in Scotland. The Power of Podcasting Podcasting has proven itself to be a compelling m

Has anyone tried making the chocolate poke cake from last week's blog? If you have, I would love to hear your thoughts on it. It's always nice to enjoy a new treat from time to time. Speaking of treats, the wonderful treat I had yesterday and today was the 70-degree weather! While many of you might be having a typical fall, here in Florida, 70 degrees is quite a rare delight (it's usually way warmer than that)! I even wore a sweater both days, which was life-changing! Well, m

Isn't it beautiful? I couldn't resist sharing some photos of Inverness with you. In the first image, if you focus on the neighborhood to the left and go just beyond the tall white building, you'll find our flat. You can't actually see it in this picture, but that's where we'll be...eventually! We're trusting in God's perfect timing to place us there when He's ready. I'm not sure about you, but I'm really feeling the Fall spirit (despite us not experiencing it here in Florida)

Miles, Moments, and Ministry
Over the past several months, I’ve found myself in just about every mode of transportation imaginable — planes, cars, and even trains. I won’t spoil the full story (you’ll have to wait for November’s Impact Zone in Knot News for that), but here’s a quick snapshot: more than 26,000 air miles , roughly 7,400 miles driven , and about 217 miles traveled by train . That’s a lot of time to think, pray, and connect. This season of travel hasn’t just been about distance; it’s been

Director's Blog...Star Date...17 October 2025
Last weekend, we hit the jackpot of relaxation! No open houses on the agenda (a blessing and a curse), which meant we got to sleep in on Saturday—hallelujah! Our day kicked off with lunch with our GKDM Board of Directors, followed by a thrilling adventure of errands, filming a podcast episode, and an epic TV/couch potato marathon. We felt like 'normal people'—whatever that means—and it was glorious! Sunday rolled in with a lesson on prayer from Pastor Drew Hage, before we att
