About The Gathering Place

The Gathering Place was born out of a calling — not to build another church, but to make room for revival, restoration, and real relationship with Jesus.

We believe God is not finished with Scotland.
We believe He is still calling people, still changing lives, and still moving in power today.

​

The Gathering Place began when Russ and Lisa Weaver sensed the Lord leading them to leave what was comfortable and step out in faith to come to Inverness with a simple but bold mission:

​

Love people.
Preach Jesus.
Build community.
Expect God to move.

​

Since arriving, we have spent our time meeting people one conversation at a time — in coffee shops, homes, prayer walks, and gatherings — sharing the Gospel, praying with people, and believing that God is preparing hearts across the Highlands.

Out of those relationships, The Gathering Place was formed.

Not as a program.
Not as a performance.
But as a place where people can encounter the presence of God.

A Church Built for Revival

We believe revival is not hype.
Revival is a time when people return to Jesus, their hearts are healed, their lives are changed, and the presence of God becomes real again.

The Gathering Place exists to create space for that.

We are committed to:

• Worship that is passionate and authentic

• Teaching that is rooted in Scripture

• Prayer that expects God to answer

• Community that feels like family

• A culture of grace, truth, and love

• A place where the Holy Spirit is welcome

You don’t have to be perfect to come here.
You don’t have to have your life figured out.
You just have to be willing to seek God.

Why Inverness? Why Now?

We believe God is doing something in the Highlands.

We have seen it in conversations with strangers.
We have seen it in people giving their lives to Christ.
We have seen it in the hunger for something real.
We have seen it in the doors God continues to open.

The Gathering Place exists because we believe this is a moment where God is calling people back to Him — not into religion, but into relationship.

Our prayer is simple:

Lord, do it again.
Do it here.
Start with us.
