One Month in Scotland — And Already So Much to Be Grateful For

Last Saturday marked one full month since we began this new chapter of our lives here in Scotland.

If we’re being completely honest, there have been a few surreal moments — the kind where we stop, look at each other, and say, “We’re really here?” Yet at the very same time, it somehow feels like the month has flown by. Truly, we keep asking ourselves, “Where did that month go?”

So much has happened in such a short span of time.

New friendships have been formed. Conversations have been shared. Stories have been exchanged. We’ve navigated unfamiliar systems, new routines, and yes — even purchased a car (which still feels like a small miracle in itself!). Through it all, we’ve had the privilege of watching what we can only describe as the steady, faithful hand of God at work.

And what can we say?

Love is powerful.

We’ve had the joy of meeting so many incredible people. We’ve shared the Gospel in cafés, living rooms, and everyday moments. At times through conversations, and at other times simply through presence, kindness, and connection. As the well-known saying goes, we’ve sought to share the Gospel — and sometimes we used words.

This first month has been nothing short of amazing.

That doesn’t mean it has been easy.

Transitions rarely are.

There have been challenges — practical ones, emotional ones, and the kind that come with stepping into the unknown. There are still many things we are actively working through, still many prayers being prayed, still many details unfolding.

But even in the midst of the unfinished, one thing remains unmistakably clear:

God is faithful.

He has provided in ways we didn’t anticipate. Encouraged us through people we hadn’t yet met. Strengthened us in moments when we didn’t even realize we needed it.

So as we reflect on this first month, our hearts are simply filled with gratitude.

Gratitude for the journey.Gratitude for the people.Gratitude for the growth.Gratitude for God’s goodness.

And if we could ask one simple thing of those walking alongside us from afar:

Please keep us in your prayers.

Pray for wisdom. Pray for provision. Pray for open doors. Pray that we continue to love well and serve faithfully.

Because if this first month is any indication, we have a feeling this journey is only just getting started. ❤️
