AUGUST 2026 • SCOTLAND MISSION UPDATE
GOD IS MOVING IN SCOTLAND.
If you’ve received Knot News for any amount of time, you know Lisa usually spends a lot of time creating a beautiful, polished newsletter.
Well…August got away from us!
Rather than wait another week to make everything perfect, we wanted to get this update into your hands because there is simply too much to celebrate.
To say August was amazing and challenging would be an understatement.
🔥 REVIVAL NIGHT: GOD STILL HEALS
This past month, Gathering Place held our first Revival Night—and it became a night we will never forget.
We had been praying and fasting, asking God to move. People travelled from as far away as Edinburgh and Aberdeen to be there.
There was no traditional sermon. Instead, we declared that the enemy does not get the final word over Scotland or the United Kingdom—Jesus does.
Then came a powerful moment of surrender.
People wrote their sins, addictions, hurts, disappointments, hardships, and burdens on black pieces of paper. One by one, they walked forward and nailed them to a wooden cross we had built.
It was a physical declaration:
“Jesus, this belongs to You now.”
Later that week, we released a video of Russ burning those papers—a reminder that what has been surrendered to Christ no longer has to define us.
Then we prayed for healing.
And God moved.
A woman who had experienced tremors for more than 20 years told us they were gone.
A man suffering from severe heartburn for more than a year reported relief.
A woman who had lived with severe back pain for years said the pain was gone.
And one woman, still very new in her faith, said something we haven't been able to forget:
“GOD CAN STILL HEAL.”
Since that night, people have been buzzing about what happened. Some are even asking us to hold Revival Night every month!
For now, we're looking toward the turn of the year for the next one. But as always, we want God's plans—not ours.
📍 THE IMPACT IS GROWING
What began as two people saying YES to God continues to grow.
Gathering Place is growing.
People are encountering Jesus.
People are being discipled.
People are finding community.
People are discovering that church doesn't have to be something you simply attend—it can be a place where you encounter the living God.
And as the impact grows, so does the need.
🚐 10 FOR $10K
At the end of September, Russ will return to the United States with a major goal: rebuilding and expanding the financial partnership behind this mission.
Over the past several months, we have lost approximately $800 in monthly support, and another supporting family has recently informed us that changing financial circumstances will require them to discontinue their support.
We're asking God to provide:
10 PARTNERS x $100 = $1,000/MONTH
Rebuild lost missionary support
10 PARTNERS x $100 = $1,000/MONTH
Expand ministry and mission opportunities
+ $10,000 ONE-TIME
Fund our van and December outreach
Our “10 for $10K” campaign is simple:
10 PARTNERS × $1,000 = $10,000
Approximately $8,000 will help cover the van we recently purchased to transport Gathering Place's portable church equipment.
The remaining $2,000 will help fund our December Christmas outreach.
