Growing in the Waiting

Life throws enough challenges our way. Serving in the mission field is already no easy task, but when unexpected issues arise that are outside of our control, the journey can feel overwhelming. Yet, we are reminded that even in these moments, God is shaping and growing us.

This past Tuesday, Lisa and I received an email from our broker that our lender had withdrawn their pre-approval. The reason was that they couldn’t verify a deposit. Sadly, they never really asked us about it, but here we are. At first, it felt discouraging. But after talking with our broker, we were reassured that we can still move forward once our home sells. In the meantime, we will pursue other options by reaching out to other brokers.

What we’re learning in all of this is that God uses delays and detours to deepen our trust in Him. He is reminding us that His timing is always perfect—even when it stretches our faith. We are confident that He is using these moments not to hinder us, but to prepare us.

The good news is this does not cause a delay in our plans. We are leaving for Scotland as soon as our home in Florida sells. Until then, we are choosing to rest in the fact that God’s hand is guiding every detail, even the ones that feel uncertain.

Your continued prayers are encouraged and deeply appreciated. Please pray that we would continue to grow in faith, patience, and trust as God leads us forward.
