Two Weeks In… and We Are In It

Settling into life here has been a mixture of excitement, stretching, learning, and a whole lot of humility. When you step into something new—especially when it’s rooted in obedience to God—you quickly realize that the early days are less about big results and more about faithful presence.
These first couple of weeks have reminded us that ministry doesn’t always begin with crowds. Often, it begins with simple availability.
Making Space for Conversations
One of the first opportunities Lisa and I have started is something called Bible Q&A, held on Tuesday mornings.
The heart behind it is simple: we want to be available.
We’ve created a space where anyone can come by, meet us, and ask questions about faith—whether they’re curious, skeptical, hurting, searching, or simply wanting to talk. There is no pressure, no agenda beyond being present and willing.
It’s not about having all the answers.
It’s about being open, approachable, and ready for the conversations God brings.
Introducing “The Forge”
The second opportunity is called The Forge.
This one is especially geared toward men—a time to meet over coffee, talk about life, and build genuine community. No masks. No pretending. Just honest conversation, encouragement, and connection.
We believe men need spaces like this—places where faith and real life can meet in a natural way.
It’s been a process, though.
A learning curve.
And if we’re honest… it has required a lot of humility.
The Reality of Planting Seeds
These early weeks have come with challenges. There have been moments of wondering, adjusting, and figuring things out as we go.
But we keep coming back to this truth:
We are here to plant seeds.
We are planting what we can, when we can.
Some seeds will take time.
Some will grow quietly beneath the surface before anything is visible.
And that’s okay.
Because God never asked us to force results—He asked us to be faithful.
Trusting the Slow Work of God
Two weeks in, we are reminded that ministry is often slow at the beginning.
It’s relational.
It’s built on conversations, consistency, and showing up again and again.
We are grateful for every interaction, every opportunity to meet someone new, and every small step forward.
Please continue praying for us as we learn, grow, and keep planting seeds here in Scotland.
God is at work—even in the small beginnings.
And we are thankful to be in it.
