Last weekend, we hit the jackpot of relaxation! No open houses on the agenda (a blessing and a curse), which meant we got to sleep in on Saturday—hallelujah! Our day kicked off with lunch with our GKDM Board of Directors, followed by a thrilling adventure of errands, filming a podcast episode, and an epic TV/couch potato marathon. We felt like 'normal people'—whatever that means—and it was glorious!
Sunday rolled in with a lesson on prayer from Pastor Drew Hage, before we attending our regular Sunday services. After church, we zoomed up to Melbourne for lunch and indulged in Cuban pastries with cafe con leche. Talk about living the dream! I even declared Monday a personal holiday, diving into thrift shopping, lunching, caffeinating, and—you guessed it—more thrift shopping. Feeling so blessed, I might just need a weekend to recover from my weekend!
Now back to our regularly scheduled programming...a couple looked at our house Wednesday afternoon, so we'll see if anything comes out of that viewing. At least someone is actually looking! We're still pressing on and moving forward towards getting to Scotland. We're so thankful for all of your kind comments and prayers as we wait. And again, we're officially one week closer to Inverness than we were last week!
So, I'm going to end this week's blog with a Scottish joke:
A helicopter loses power over a remote Scottish island and makes an emergency landing.
Luckily, there's a cottage nearby, so the pilot knocks on the door. "Is there a mechanic in the area?" he asks the woman who answers.
She thinks for a minute. "No, but we do have a McDonald and a McKay."
