Recently, I was meeting with a potential supporter (let’s call him “Jack”) to discuss what we are doing in Scotland. I chose a coffee shop that isn’t normally very busy, but I forgot to factor in that it was the first week of Spring Break. Needless to say, the place was pretty full.
As we navigated the tables, the only table left was a long bar-style table with six chairs around it. I had the thought, “someone is going to end up sitting right here with us when I’m trying to share our vision.” Then the thought came, “Ha! Two for one baby!” Sure enough, while speaking with Jack, a man walked up to us and said, “may I sit here?” Our reply: “absolutely not…get lost!” No, we didn’t respond that way…come on. Anyway, the man sat down at the other end of the table, and I continued to share about our mission.
Obviously, the man was listening to my discussion as he started to chime in by talking about how he used to be in the Christian production industry. I said, “Great! Pull up a chair and listen.” I figured, if you can’t beat ‘em, have them join you! When it came time for the “ask” (AKA: would you like to be a financial part of what we are doing?), the Holy Spirit had other plans. I was looking at Jack, then turned my attention to the other man. He started to cry and couldn’t speak. Jack, being as awesome as he is, and I stood up and put our hands on him and just listened to his story.
The man went on to explain how his marriage failed, he retired with little money, and is currently battling cancer, so we prayed over him right there in the coffee shop. We stood boldly on the Word of God and trusted that the Holy Spirit was doing His thing. We ended our meeting by inviting the man to church. Here’s something we didn’t expect: there was a man sitting behind us, working on his laptop, who watched all of this happen. He asked about it, so I handed him one of our prayer cards.
A week later, I got a phone call, and it was the man I handed a prayer card to. He had some questions for me, then it all resulted in leading him to the Lord. “Two for one!” God is using us everywhere we go to impact the world for His Kingdom!

What can I say about our trip to Birmingham, AL to attend the ARC Launch Church Planter Training Event Conference, except that it was nothing short of AMAZING and we cannot thank you enough for sending us there!
From the minute we stepped onto the church grounds, we could feel the presence of God and knew that He placed us there for such a time as this. For those of you who don’t know ARC, they are a cooperative of independent churches from different denominations, networks, and backgrounds who strategically resource church planters and pastors to help them reach people with the message of Jesus.
The leaders are all people who are actively involved in ministry and have planted churches themselves. They bring a lot of insight and resources to the table and are all devoted to sharing the Gospel at home and abroad. Russ and I learned so much about what it takes to plant a church, including the business side of things as well as the spiritual side.
We were blessed with making new friends from the US, the UK and even Uganda. We were so impacted by what we learned and the connections we made, that we hope to pay it forward someday by sponsoring new church planters to attend this conference. Now we’re even more excited to get out there and reach Scotland for Jesus!

When you are actively raising support, it feels odd to ask for “additional” support; however, we believe that “if you ask not, you will receive not.” While we were at the ARC Conference in Birmingham, AL, it was brought to our attention that ARC is hosting a conference in Dublin, Ireland in May.
It was specifically recommended to us that we attend this conference for networking opportunities with pastors from all over Europe. We believe that God will open up a lot of doors and will provide Divine appointments to meet other front-line workers in the UK.
Due to scheduling and budget constraints, this conference will be a trip just for Russ. The projected cost for the entire trip is $1,500. If this is something you would be willing to help with, please let us know by emailing us at: weavers@godsknotdead.org (The deadline is tight…we need to purchase Russ’ airfare before April 15 ).
Thank you in advance for listening to God's voice and partnering with us to make this trip happen.
